学院以中国工程院院士沈昌祥教授为引领，深度推进产教融合，于2020年“高标准、高起点、新机制、新模式”正式成立。2022年获批省级信创与网络安全现代产业学院。
学院依托广东省教育厅创新团队、佛山市科技创新团队和校级重点团队等团队项目，不断加强师资队伍建设。学院设有信息新技术研究中心、网络安全技术研究中心和网络安全培训中心等优质平台，现有教师30余人，专任教师100%具有博士学历，其中包括中国工程院院士、党的十九大代表、全国优秀党务工作者、广东省五一劳动奖章、珠江学者、广东省优秀青年骨干教师等。学院现设置网络空间安全（师范、非师范）、网络空间安全专业卓越职教师资班、网络空间安全（创新实验班）四个本科专业方向，每年招生规模200余人。学院以网络空间安全一级学科建设为目标，下设三个研究方向：数字内容安全及应用、软件定义网络安全及应用和应用安全，现有电子信息专业硕士网络与信息安全领域和教育专业硕士科学与技术教育领域两个硕士招生方向，每年招生规模50余人。
学院发展坚持立德树人，注重思想政治教育，践行“思政强心、精品强学、实践强能、科研强志，竞赛强驱”的“五位一体”的网络空间安全人才培养新模式，极大提升学生参与行业实践、学科竞赛和科学研究的热情，成效显著。学院教师指导在校生发表一系列高水平学术论文20余篇，获中国国际“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛全国总决赛金奖银奖/省赛金奖、全国挑战杯二等奖/省特等奖、中国研究生电子设计竞赛国赛二等奖、广东省大学生国家安全知识竞赛特等奖等国家级和省级奖励，相关教学成果获得2021年广东省教学成果奖（高等教育类）一等奖。
学院拥有广东省重点实验室、广州市重点实验室、广东省工程技术研究中心、广东高校工程技术研究中心等多个科研平台。近五年来，学院教师主持和联合主持各类科研项目共40余项，包括国家自然科学基金项目12项、国家重点研发计划项目3项和工业和信息化部重点项目1项、广东省科技厅应用型科技研发专项资金、广东省重点领域项目等国家级、省级重点/重大项目4项，到校科研经费5000多万元，学院教师在高质量学术期刊上发表论文62篇，其中中科院SCI二区以上23篇，入选高被引2篇，热点论文1篇，出版专著3部，授权发明专利40余件，拥有软件著作权30余项,获2022年广东省科技进步奖一等奖（第一完成单位）。
学院与华为、中兴通讯、奇安信、中国联通等行业龙头企业深度合作，完成10余项企业关键技术委托研发，到校经费700余万元。学院提交参政议政提案多次被省委采纳。完成网络安全信息化国培/省培项目10余项，总人数达500余人，主持建设的广东省教育行业信创适配中心和广东省教育行业网络靶场与实网攻防演练中心已经开始运营，将为广东省教育行业信创和网络安全的人才培养和技术服务提供支撑。

With Prof. Shen Changxiang, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, as the leader, the college promotes the integration of industry and education in depth, and was formally established in 2020 with “high standard, high starting point, new mechanism and new mode”, and was approved as the provincial-level modern industrial college of Xinchuang and network security in 2022.
Relying on the innovation team of Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, Foshan City Science and Technology Innovation Team and school-level key teams and other team projects, the college has continuously strengthened the construction of faculty and staff.The college has quality platforms such as Information New Technology Research Center, Cybersecurity Technology Research Center and Cybersecurity Training Center, etc. There are more than 30 teachers in the college, and 100% of the full-time teachers have doctoral degrees, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delegates to the 19th CPC National Congress, national outstanding party workers, May 1st Labor Medal of Guangdong Province, Pearl River Scholars, and outstanding young backbone teachers of Guangdong Province.The College has set up four undergraduate major directions, namely, Cyberspace Security (teacher training, non-teacher training), Cyberspace Security Professional Excellence Vocational Teacher Training Class, and Cyberspace Security (Innovation Experimental Class), with an annual enrollment of more than 200 students.With the goal of constructing the first-level discipline of cyberspace security, the College has set up three research directions: digital content security and application, software-defined network security and application and application security, and has two master’s enrollment directions of master’s degree in network and information security and master’s degree in science and technology education, with an annual enrollment scale of more than 50 students.
The college adheres to the development of moral education, focuses on ideological and political education, and practices the “five-in-one” new model of cultivating cyberspace security talents of “strong ideology and politics, high-quality products and learning, strong practice, strong scientific research and competition”, which greatly enhances the enthusiasm of students to participate in industry practice, disciplinary competition and scientific research.The new model of “five-in-one” cyberspace security talent cultivation has greatly enhanced the enthusiasm of students to participate in industry practice, disciplinary competitions and scientific research, with remarkable results.Teachers of the college have guided students to publish more than 20 high-level academic papers, and they have been awarded national and provincial prizes such as gold and silver prizes in the national finals of China International “Internet Plus” College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, second prize in the National Challenge Cup and special prize in the province, second prize in the National Competition of China Graduate Students Electronic Design Competition, and special prize in the Guangdong College Students’ Knowledge Competition on National Security.The college has won national and provincial awards such as special prize, and the related teaching achievements won the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Teaching Achievement Award (Higher Education Category) in 2021.
The college has a number of scientific research platforms such as Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory, Guangzhou Municipal Key Laboratory, Guangdong Provincial Engineering and Technology Research Center, and Guangdong University Engineering and Technology Research Center.In the past five years, faculty members have presided over and co-presided over a total of more than 40 scientific research projects of various types, including 12 projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 3 projects of the National Key Research and Development Program and 1 key project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and 4 key/major projects at the national and provincial levels, such as special funds for applied science and technology research and development of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and projects in key areas of Guangdong Province, with a total of more than 50 million yuan of scientific research funds coming to the university.Teachers of the college have published 62 papers in high-quality academic journals, including 23 papers in SCI Zone 2 or above of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2 highly cited papers, 1 hot paper, 3 monographs, more than 40 authorized invention patents, more than 30 software copyrights, and was awarded the first prize of the Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award in 2022 (the first completing unit).
The college has deep cooperation with Huawei, ZTE, Chianxin, China Unicom and other leading enterprises in the industry, and has completed more than 10 key technologies commissioned by the enterprise research and development, with a funding of more than 7 million yuan to the university.The college submitted proposals on political participation and deliberation which were adopted by the provincial party committee for many times.It has completed more than 10 national/provincial training projects on network security informatization, with a total number of more than 500 people, and presided over the construction of the Guangdong Province Education Industry Xinchuang Adaptation Center and the Guangdong Province Education Industry Network Range and Real Network Attack and Defense Rehearsal Center, which have begun to operate and will provide support for the training of talents and technical services for the education industry of Guangdong Province in the field of Xinchuang and network security.
